In business for nearly 25 years, A-1 Wheelchair Patient Transport, Inc., dba A-1 Patient Transport, specializes in provideing caring, safe and affordable transportation to the elderly and mobility impaired residents of Mecklenburg County and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to be the premier patient transportation company in the greater Charlotte area. We want to provide our clients with the most quality experience one can have while traveling in one of our vehicles. We do this by utilizing the best equipment, providing our drivers with comprehensive training, having safety our #1 priority, and valuing the impact of caring approach has on our community.

A-1 Wheelchair Patient Transport, Inc. has been servicing the Charlotte Area since 2009 under the leadership of Nancy Short. Nancy began with one vehicle and has grown the business to serve the Mecklenburg County community with excellent service and integrity. A-1 Wheelchair is known in the area as the most trustworthy and dependable service available. On January 20, 2014, the company was acquired with the goal of honoring the legacy of A-1 Wheelchair Patient Transport, Inc. through continued excellent service and growth that will reflect the expanding need for our services in Mecklenburg County and the surrounding area. We plan to continue providing our community with the highest level of service.

If you have a special need for school transportation for your student, please contact CMS Transportation Office at 980-343-6715. Please request A-1 Patient Transportation, Inc. to provide for your transportation needs.
MEDICAID PATIENTS
You may contact the NC Department of Social Services to obtain authorization for transportation at 704-336-4547. Please request A-1 Patient Transportation, Inc. to provide for your transportation needs.
SERVICES
A-1 Patient Transport, Inc. is a non-emergency medical transportation provider that utilizes several forms of service to assist our mobility impaired and wheelchair-bound clients for their many needs, such as:
• Hospital Discharges
• Doctors Appointments
• Medical Treatments like dialysis
• Out patient post-surgery transortation
• Adult Day Care
• To and from rehabilitation facilities
• To and From healthcare facilities
• Stair assist transport
• School and special needs
• Wheelchair rental
WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORTATION
We have a fleet of raised roof vans with hydraulic lifts that accomadate multiple wheelchairs with additional seating for an attendant or family members.To ensure the comfort and safety of our clients, our vehicles are serviced and cleaned regularly. All of our drivers have completed Passenger Vehicle for Hire (PVH) training and maintain their PVH permits through a yearly renewal process.

SENIOR TRANSPORTATION
We appreciate the seniors of our community and strive to make their transportation experience comfortable, safe and prompt. With almost 25 years of experience, we offer high quality service to our mature citizens. Our dedicated drivers provide transportation to Adult Day Care facilities, medical treatment facilities and other door-to-door services as needed.
